Huzzah! A Day at the Ren Faire

Back when I apartment-dwelled, I went to the Ren Faire every year. Now that I’m traveling I don’t often get the chance, but it just happens that the Ren Faire in Boca Raton FL opened this week while I was here.

Huzzah!

Naturally I spent a lot more than I thought I would—ate too much, drank too much, and bought myself a nice sterling silver Thor’s Hammer necklace. Woulda bought myself a nice Italian rapier too, if I had room in the campervan for it.  🙂

So here are some photos from a day at the Faire.

  1. Back in my younger days I had some friends who were in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) and did medieval re-enactment. They taught me some moves. I got to be fairly decent with a longsword, and absolutely lethal with a rapier. 🙂

  2. Seems like you had a great day. I was there a few years back….it was too warm….even in February. Also it made me glad I was born a few centuries later. It was not an easy life in that era.
