Baton Rouge Zoo

Like most small-city zoos with small-city budgets, the Baton Rouge Zoo is…well…small. But it is very nicely laid out and even had some species i had not seen before.

Some photos from a visit.

The zoo. It was overcast most of the day but didn’t rain. Nevertheless, the weather kept people away, and I practically had the whole zoo to myself.

Mandarin Duck

Black-Handed Spider Monkey

Bull Elk

Lappet-Faced Vulture

Abdim’s Stork

Sulawesi Macaque

Lion-Tailed Macaque

Red River Hog

Some locals who have moved in and made themselves at home. A Mud Turtle–not sure which species.
