Greetings From Alamogordo NM

It’s a blast.  😉

The Trinity Test Site, where the first atomic bomb test was carried out, is only open to the public two days a year–and one of those is the first Saturday in October. So if all goes well I should be there. (I don’t have the faintest clue where it is or how to get there, but I’ll figure it out before then.)

In the meantime, Alamogordo might be a very small town, but it does have a few cool things to see–a zoo, the nearby White Sands national park, and a space museum.

A very active (and very noisy) bird in the parking lot. Looks sorta like a Grackle, but doesn’t sound like one.

  1. I spent a couple winter days in Alamogordo/White Sands on one of my cross-country-and-back drives, and it was just gorgeous. That’s a pretty neat little missile museum.

    Roswell was fun, too. :>)
